whitman hanson girls' soccer

The Whitman Hanson girls’ soccer team clinched the Patriot League title with a 3-0 shutout of Hingham. Hingham controlled play in the first half outshooting the Panthers 11-2. 51 seconds in to the game Whitman Hanson’s backup keeper, Mikayla Clemens, came in to the game and many a number of big saves to keep the score 0-0 at the half. With the wind at their back Whitman Hanson began to pressure the Hingham goal and finally put one in when Lauren Bonavita sent a cross in front of the goal and Rachel kelly was there to put it home. A few minutes later Bonavita took a great feed from Taylor Kofton and doubled the lead. Bonavita was again a recipient of a great feed from Kofton and slotted it home for the 3-0 final. Sammi Smith, Kelsey Gilbert, Maddie Shea, and Elana Wood played solid defense all afternoon helping Mikayla Clemens earn her first shutout and the teams 11th.
